Fall can bring some exciting activities and festivals, and most can be found in NYC or with just a short trip outside the city.

Head Out for Apple and Pumpkin Picking Season

New York City isn’t always the best place to go apple or pumpkin picking, but there are nearby farms easily accessible by bus or train.

The end of the season in November can be the best time to apple pick, since some places are free but still offer plenty of delicious options. Find one that works for you below.

Fish Kill Farms
Hopewell Junction, NY

Fish Kill Farms is just about an hour from NYC. Get the last chance at apples, including Empire, Jonagold, Rome, Golden Delicious, and Red Delicious, when you head over in November. It’s free at that time of year!

Dr. Davies Farm
Congers, NY

Dr. Davies Farm offers apple and pumpkin picking well into November, as well as hay rides and a farm market—all at affordable prices. Check out their website for directions and to learn more.

Kelder’s Farm
Kerhonkson, NY
