Fourth of July in NYC is full of family fun and free events. Check out these five ways to spend your Fourth!

Travis 4th of July Parade

Hop on the ferry and visit this Staten Island small town as it celebrates its 108th Fourth of July parade full of fun and entertainment. Don’t miss the longest-running, continuous Independence Day parade in the country. Ceremony starts at noon; the parade steps off at 12:30pm.

Jersey City Freedom & Fireworks Festival

Venture outside of the five boroughs to celebrate the Fourth with carnival rides, live music, food, drinks, and more! The Fourth Annual Jersey City Freedom & Fireworks Festival kicks off at 12pm at Liberty State Park. Festivities run until 10pm, so there’s something for everyone!

Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest

This Independence Day tradition began in 1916, when the first Nathan’s Famous opened in Coney Island, and is now 101 years old! Gather at 1310 Surf Avenue on July Fourth to see some world-famous eaters chow down for the crown. Contest begins at 12pm!

4th of July in Coney Island

After taking in the Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest, head over to the beach and boardwalk to enjoy all that Coney Island has to offer. Stick around until sundown for a free fireworks show!

Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks

Macy’s is celebrating 42 years of Fourth of July spectaculars, featuring musical performances, an original score, and, of course, an astonishing fireworks display! Catch the show live at 8pm on NBC or in person—here’s where to go to get the best view of the fireworks.
